As an aside, my second sister was back from Suchou last night for a 3-week holiday here in Penang. She is the head of Business English department of a Hong Kong affiliated university known as Hong Kong SPACE. Well, she is doing very well – getting promoted twice with salary increments. She is now at the peak of her career but she wants to quit to do her pHd in UK this year.

Over Chinese New Year, we will let the shopping spree begins in Hatyai, Thailand when we go there for a short break of 3 days and 2 nights. This has been our yearly ritual for the past few years where I will buy Boots cosmetics from a pharmacy because it is cheaper. Boots is a UK brand of goods.

I’ve been married for about ten years now, so I’m used to having my husband around. I have always considered myself the kind of woman who can take care of things on my own, but it’s nice having him close by. I like feeling like I’m protected when he’s at home with me. When he was offered a better job that required more travel, at first I didn’t bat an eye. I thought it was a great opportunity and was really excited for him to move ahead professionally. The higher salary didn’t hurt either. I didn’t even think about how the travel would affect me. I was actually surprised when I started to feel scared when he wasn’t home at night. I know it’s probably just a little bit of paranoia, and I’ll get more used to it as time goes on, but I get alarmed for any little noise I hear outside. I am entering Pimp My Cube Contest

I am entering a contest for Pimp my Cube which is my work space in a home office. See the mess around with loads of stuffs stacked on top of one another giving an eye-sore to the work place. But I have no choice. These are all much needed things, and I don’t have enough storage space to put them away in a proper place away from my workstation. You can see the wires dangling around the laptop, my iPad 2 placed on top of the multi-functional printer since I am currently charging it – the battery is low at the moment.

And stacks of bags of stuffs to be put away for more walking space, but they are now under the table containing my fax machine. Used papers strewn all over the table and they will be collected as recycled paper to sell for some profit. But for the moment, I placed them there as it is more convenient.

Behind my workstation are bags and plastic bags of things like CDs, files, empty recycled bags, papers, office stationaries, etc. I think I really need a makeover with a new cube and proper cubicle to place all my office stuffs neatly on my workspace so that I can retrieve them without much effort. Help me!
