Nacho Libre
Jack Black played as Nacho, a young man who was raised in a Mexican monastery and worked there as the cook. He takes it upon himself to rescue the holy place from financial ruin by joining a local ‘Lucha libre’ tournament and becoming one of the ‘luchadores’, a local Mexican term for wrestlers. Naturally, Nacho isn’t acting out of purely altruistic measures, as he wishes to help Sister Encarnacion (Ana de la Reguera), a beautiful Mexican nun who has recently arrived at the monastery, as well as the gaggle of young orphans who live there. See this movie for yourself if you like the basics of human nature and humor set in a monastery. As my dad and two younger sisters are Catholics, it is a poignant reminder of the vow of poverty that any priest and nun undertakes in their lifelong vocation. This is their religiously sacred life and they need to observe chastity. Quite a good movie and scenes were suited to subsistence life in a monastery, I must say.

Pigeon Poop - Time to Strike 4-Digits

The other day, my friend parked his car beneath a large tree for a while. Shortly later, pigeon droppings were seen on his vehicle. Such luck! Luckily it was not on his shirt or his head! Some people believe they will strike the lottery if this happens, as comical as it seems. I do not gamble, neither do I speculate in the share market; so bird poop or whatever that hits your car is redundant to me. I don’t understand why people continue to feed pigeons when the droppings carry e-coli bacteria that can easily spread in the air. Luckily my neighbour has stopped feeding the pigeons.

Mouse potato
I think I am a Mouse Potato. For those of you who are wondering what the heck this means, go to http://www.google.com/ and type “define mouse potato” without the double quotes. This is what it says in google’s definition, “A human being who spends an inordinate amount or time “pointing and clicking” using a mouse device with a computer and/or staring at a computer screen”. A friend asks me what is a “blog”. A search in Google reveals this. ”Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site”.
