I just make a donation of just 1k RM to the Thai orphans through Pastor Cheah Chee Moon. His dream is to ensure the homeless children under his care in Chiang Rai, Thailand, acquire a sound education. To achieve this, the 46-year-old Penangite recently embarked on a fund-raising mission to collect money for the schooling expenditure of the 56 children in his centre, called Agape Home. Riding a 30-year-old Honda Cub, Cheah travelled from Thailand to Singapore through the west coast of peninsula Malaysia.

“I am hoping that people will generously donate a ringgit for every kilometre covered.” said Cheah, who expects to have ridden about 6,000km by the time he returns to Thailand. Cheah’s involvement with orphaned and destitute children in Thailand began in 1984 when he went there as a missionary worker.

He found that there were far too many of them, some ending on the streets after both their parents succumbed to AIDS. “Some of these children were also HIV-positive and needed special care,” said Cheah. “My heart went out to them and I decided to take up the challenge of giving them a better life.”

He added that these street children had little opportunity in life and no way of acquiring an education. After years of working hard as a missionary to take care of their needs, he set up Agape Home several years ago to take in destitute children and give them a proper education.

According to Cheah, he wanted the children in Agape Home to go as far as possible academically. “Once they are well-educated, they will be able to take good care of themselves,” said Cheah, who runs the home with the help of four workers. He said homeless children had better opportunities in Malaysia compared to Thailand as there were many centres in Malaysia catering to their needs.

Cheah can be contacted at 016-408 3401 or call 012-227 2289 (Pastor Albert Ong). For security purpose, I am not putting the bank account number here or the bank account name. Just send Pastor Cheah a message and he will sms you the banking details to make the donation for a worthy cause helping the orphaned kids.

The photo above looks very inviting with all the matching pink cloths. Wish I could furnish my new home with the matching materials from pink slippers to the bowl cover and toilet roll holder. It looks so inviting that you just wish you have a good novel and sit in this water closet and read for hours. In fact, my dad has put a fan in our water closet and reading is what some of us do mostly while sitting on the ‘throne’.

I am excited I bought a new condominium that is still in the midst of construction and will be ready in 2009 in Phase 2. The HSBC loan officer came to my house yesterday to get my 6 months pay slip and photocopied statements of my 2 banks. I hope my loan application will be approved by Tuesday and she will phone me about the results. I have applied for 70% of the condominium unit amount from RM281,000. With insurance, the amount will be RM209,000 in total. She printed for me the amount I need to pay off in 10 years to 28 years the longest. At the minimum, I must pay about RM1,200 a month and maximum, any amount like RM2,000.

I have taken loans before for my undergraduate studies in Singapore and now to buy a condominium in Penang Times Square. I am scouting around for the best offer with minimum interests rate. You can check out Unsecured Business Loan from EZUnsecured dot com offering easy process, fast funding and a great service. I plan to borrow up to about RM200k for the condominium unit in Birch Regency. Looks like properties in Penang are much more expensive than in Kuala Lumpur or the mainland. In Juru, a landed double storey terrace house cost only RM220,000 which is a very good offer. But if you want a condominium right in the heart of town in Penang, you have to pay about RM295,000 for 950 square feet area in Birch Regency.

A few days ago, I bought myself a new condominium in Penang’s Times Square in Birch Regency. It was on Level 7 costing about RM295,000. After 5% discount, the total price was RM281,000 inclusive of lawyer’s fees and other legal fees. However, built in cupboards were not included yet and they will send me a letter whether to have my own customized built in cupboards or use the one by Ivory Properties. Beside Birch Regency, is Birch The Plaza with a few floors of commercial lots for shopping complexes just like Birch Regency. There will be a 5-star hotel within walking distance in the Penang Times Square. Also there will be a large exhibition centre and a luxury condominium in Phase 3 of the construction. Birch Regency is Phase 2 which will be completed by end of 2010 while Birch The Plaza is Phase 1 and will be completed by end of 2008. The monorail or LRT (light rail transit) will be stationed in Penang Times Square with the bus route coming here. I have paid RM5,000 deposit by my Citibank credit card and the remaining 30% will be paid by check later. I am quite excited about my new condominium. The built up area is 950 square feet which is of a comfortable size, not too big and neither too small.

Some online chatters are amazed that I could work from home earning a comfortable income. That’s because I work for my friend in his sports building business using my home office with internet connection. It is complete with a fax machine, a scanner, digital camera and a printer. I don’t have to wake up early to beat traffic jams or get dressed before going to work. All I need is turn on the PC in my pyjamas and after taking a cup of milk as my breakfast. It is so convenient and I have been doing this since March 2004. I am never short of work and almost everyday, there will be emails and faxes to reply to for the tenders and quotations. I also get to blog part time whenever there is extra time.

The only experience I had with home mortgage is when I bought my 3-room HDB (Housing and Development Board) flat in Commonwealth Drive in Singapore. It was a small flat suitable for single occupation at that time. And I stayed here for about 1 year before calling it quits and decided to sell the flat, pack my bags and leave for Penang, Malaysia. I had some fond memories of this place since I had spent so much time and money furnishing my flat. It was much better than renting as I had more privacy in my own flat. If you stay in Oregon, you may be interested to check out on Oregon home mortgage.

And for those who need to refinance their homes in Oregon, do surf on Oregon mortgage refinance from OregonsBestMortgage dot com. This site offers interesting information like free custom home loan quote, mortgage calculation for payment monthly and other articles related to mortgage especially in Oregon. Buying a home is the best investment you could do to yourself and let the value of the property appreciates as more money comes to you written on paper. Also, buying a home is a better investment than buying cars or computer with the value depreciating very fast the moment they are bought. There is not much resale value in these items except for a house.

Recently we were looking for an air purifier that comes with the air con for our new rented condo in Subang Jaya. With an air purifier or ionizer, you can reduce allergens in your home. Some air purifiers and ionizers on the market even filter out kitchen odors. You can kill viruses and bacteria in your home. If you share your home with a smoker, use an air purifier or ionizer to clean the air and get rid of odors. An air purifier will be perfect in any room where you want to clean up the air. Decrease the indoor air pollution in your home or office with an air purifier. You can use it in the living room, bedroom, car or bathroom.

Further to my previous post, my company has bought 2 single beds at RM4k or so with Dunlop brand with a free single seater sofe chair. Recently I went to Tesco to get the comforter, bedsheets and had the curtains done for RM350. These are just the basic stuffs and the furniture and office stationary will be bought in KL. So, I’m pretty occupied furnishing the new office condo in Subang Jaya. The rental is worth it if we travel down to KL often and I can also work from there in our other KL office.

All climate heat pumpI recalled the time when I was in Sydney, Australia staying at a foster family’s home and it was near winter and extremely cold for me at 4 degree Celcius. That time, I attended the South Australian State Guide Camp’s 150th Anniversary for about 2 weeks. It was so cold that I had to use an electric blanket to keep warm. On the other hand, if you don’t adjust the blanket properly, the heated wires may be too hot for me and I had to remove it. That was some experience for me being 16 years of age at the point in time.

If you happen to stay in a cold climate country, check out All Climate Heat Pump from UsWesco short for US West Energy Solutions Corporation. It is the Hallowell International dealer for the West coast of USA, including: Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho and Montana. By the way, Hallowell International delivers powerful state-of-the-art all climate heat pumps for your homes.
