Here’s my buffet breakfast in Plaza Hotel. I have stayed here many times as there is easy road access and there are higher chances of getting a room here. Also, I had my usual glass of orange juice with the breakfast spread of “nasi lemak”, veges, hash browns and fried eggs. nuffnang_bid = “ffa7e38c8d758dc9c6b3e7582fc51d05″;

Here is the menu with red Chinese New Year theme and vinegar to go with the shark’s fin soup. The fourth dish was braised mushroom with mixed vegetables tied up in a bundle with a layer of tofu skin and fried. The fifth serving was Japanese style udon noodles soup served in a brown claypot [...]

Above was the menu costing RM68++ per person. The first item that was served was rich braised shark’s fin soup with seafood in a burner to keep the soup warm. Next, we had deep-fried soft shelled crab with thousand island sauce. The soft-shelled crab can be eaten whole without removing the outer shell. The following [...]

Here are some pictures taken during my recent trip to KL and Johor for business. By the time I returned to KL, it was already 9:00pm and my boss and I decided to have our dinner near a client’s place. This is something I can look forward to after a long and tiring journey. Below [...]

The above pictures are taken from Hok Wok in Genting Highlands. The sharks fin soup was delicious though a bit starchy. The royale king crab was superb, the first time I ever tasted. This restaurant specializes in crabs in different types of dishes and cooking. The mushroom butter crab was simply ambroisia. The butter and [...]

My friend treated me to a dinner for two at Genting’s Hot Pot Restaurant, well known for its crab specialties. Here is some “emperor’s food” that whet your appetite and tantalize your tastebuds. The double boiled sharks’ fin soup with royale king crab is certainly a gastronomical delight. And the meal itself is not cheap. [...]

Above is a picture of the salmon with rice that I had yesterday from Manhattan Fish Market in Queensbay, the recently opened megamall in Penang. This project has been stalled for a few years under Dr Mahathir’s rule and when Badawi took over the helm as Malaysia’s fifth prime minister, he made sure all the [...]

The above is another of my ordered dish recently at Chicken Rice Shop. It is called Pie Tee which is julienned turnips and carrots with mushrooms stir-fried together and put into a cup of fried battered crust. This is one of the Nonya food, the Straits Settlement Chinese recipe. We Chinese have a penchant for [...]

This was my dinner of a plate of green kale topped with shallots, soya sauce and oyster sauce from Chicken Rice Shop last night. As I don’t take rice to reduce carbohydrate intake, I only had vegetables and this was one of them. I guess to maintain the dark green color of the fresh kale, [...]

We had dinner last night in Chicken Rice Shop in the basement of Gurney Plaza where the food is. Above is what my sister ordered of a set of roasted chicken with rice, soup and bean sprouts (Picture will be shown later). It was tasty and originated from Chinese recipes and now taken over by [...]

Above was my dinner recently at a beach cafe in Penang. This is a relatively new stall that was opened and the food looks tempting with plenty of gravy. So, I ordered one and it was, quite tasty and delicious. The gravy was thick and sumptious with cabbages inside. Sometimes, it is good to order [...]

Above is a tantalizing picture of what my sister ordered in a beach café in Penang. It is a fish pot pie consisting of baked carrots, corns, mushroom soup, mushrooms, potatoes and fish slices covered by pie on a cup. It is a meal by itself and quite filling to the stomach. This used to [...]
