This is a 5 star rating Youtube video of Looney Tunes “Jingle Bells” Sing-A-Long. Just watchh it to see and judge for yourself. I certainly loved it with a certain twist. And it is 7:20am now on a public holiday – what am I doing here by the computer when I should be still in bed, you might think. Well, being the computer addict that I am, I have to wake up early to check on mails or see any thing else to do before preparing for my working trip to KL later today. And I need to get a quotation out by today before the planned trip. So, working at home – whether holidays or not – it entirely up to you.

I am in a Chrismassy mood and decided to put up a Youtube Christmas song with lyrics for a sing-a-long like a karaoke session. There is more to just presents, Santa Claus, christmas trees and all the merriment. Christmas is God’s precious gift to the world when baby Jesus was born to save mankind from eternal condemnation. It is God’s reconciliation to men who were hopelessly lost in this world and to bring them back to an eternal reunion with God the Father for whoever accepts Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Indeed accepting Jesus as my Lord and Saviour way back in 1985 was the best decision I have made that changed my entire destiny including my family and friends.

Paul Blart (Kevin James) is a single, suburban dad trying to make ends meet as a security officer at a New Jersey mall. It’s a job he takes very seriously, though no one else does.

When Santa’s helpers at the mall stage a coup, shutting down the megaplex and taking hostages (Paul’s daughter and sweetheart among them), Jersey’s most formidable mall cop will have to become a real cop to save the day.

While almost every concerned citizen in Malaysia is waiting for the opposition to form the new government, I came across this video in Youtube. The anticipation was high on September 16, but alas, nothing happened and Badawi sent most of his Barisan politicians to Taiwan to ‘learn about agriculture’ on that date so that there won’t be any crossovers to Pakatan for those sitting on the fence. With Anwar’s trial looming, I wonder if he is able to form the next government in the near future. Still keeping my fingers cross as Anwar is pro all races and not just bumiputera which UMNO has been fighting for – but the end result is that all government tenders and projects goes to their own UMNOputera cronies to enrich themselves.

Watch the video and have a good laugh!

With The Love Guru, you can tell Meyers is trying to create another success along the lines of Austin Powers, but failing miserably. The thing about Austin Powers was despite being a dumb comedy, the movie had a likable, fun protagonist. In Meyer’s latest outing, we get the Guru Pitka, a Charles Manson look-alike who has an obsession with penises. It’s somewhat fitting that he resembles Charles Manson, a notorious cult leader, as by the movies end I had a strange urge to kill myself. Not only is the Guru creepy, he’s also very unfunny. Whether he’s making lame puns about “life” or talking about penises, he never manages to elicit any laughs whatsoever. It could be that his jokes are just bad. Certainly using jokes straight out of a children’s joke book isn’t a recipe for success. It could also be the fact that Meyers is so desperate for a laugh, he himself laughs at every joke and continuously looks at the audience, attempting to entice them to laugh along with him. You get the sense that he realizes the jokes are unfunny and the glances at the audience are his last failed attempts at getting a few laughs. Guru Pitka’s character development just adds injury to the insult. One minute Pitka is being hailed as a spiritual healer who lives to help people and the next minute he’s insulting a midget for no particular reason. There’s no consistency to the character at all, which is what this movie is missing in comparison to Meyer’s last few. Wayne Campbell and Austin Powers felt like real characters, where the Guru doesn’t really have any character; he randomly does whatever moves the plot along forward.

incredible hulk
I was in Gurney Plaza to see this amazing movie in Golden Screen Cinemas or better known as GSC. Here is the synopsis. Marvel has done it again. Early this summer it was the surprise hit Iron Man that had moviegoers buzzing. The good folks over at Marvel followed up with another installment of The Incredible Hulk. A lot of people, including myself, were skeptical of this film because of the last failed attempt at this franchise. This Incredible Hulk is nothing like what we saw in Ang Lee’s Hulk.

The movie opens as Bruce Banner (Edward Norton)a fugitive on the run who is living in Brazil, hiding from who he is, and trying to find a cure. Banner is quickly spotted by General Ross (William Hurt) and is on the run again. With no cure in sight Banner returns home to find some answers.

This movie reminds me of the old TV show that I loved so much. There are only going to be a few scenes with The Hulk. It was important that whoever played Bruce Banner could carry the film. In this film Norton does such a great job of playing someone who does not want to be the Hulk. A man who is not happy with what he’s become and wants to find answers. Because of the Hulk he has to isolate himself from other people. You get the sense that he’s not sure he can control the monster within.

One of the great performances of the movie is Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky. An old soldier who wants who is obsessed with the power the Hulk possesses. His obsession with this power only grows stronger as the movie goes on. Blonsky reminded of the steroid issues in our sports today. A person who is past their prime who will inject themselves with anything for the opportunity to “win”.

My suggestion: One of the better movies I’ve seen this summer. I don’t think this movie disappoints at all. If you are a fan of the comic book, it is a must see. I enjoyed every minute of it. Good script, great action and even a few laughs to keep the movie going. I loved what I saw out of this movie and I hope to see more. Not to mention there is a cameo at the end of the movie that had the whole theater buzzing. Can’t wait to see what Marvel does next.

Today I will be watch a live ice-skating performance in PISA, Penang. You can read more about it here. I have paid about $135 per person and ordered online via my credit card for the tickets to be couriered to my address. It is right in front which is why the seats are more expensive. The cheapest tickets sell at $55 per person and you sit further up the audience’s allocated seatings. Starting at 8:30pm today, I hope the performance will be worth our money.

If you have kids, bring them along for this once in a year ice-skating performance by award winning skaters. I hope to take some pictures if cameras are allowed to snap and record the video. But from previous experience, no one is allowed to take photos or secretly record the live entertainment.

Last night, I was in Queensbay Mall to catch a movie entitled Nim’s Island, an adventure trailer.

Nim’s Island tells the story of a young girl named Nim (Abigail Breslin). She lives on a deserted island with her scientist father (Gerard Butler). She spends her days having wild adventures in the woods along with her animal friends and her wild imagination. Nim has a huge passion for books, especially the Alex Rover books. One night when her father gets lost at sea, Nim sends a letter to her literary hero pleading for help. Little does Nim know, that Alex Rover is a woman (Jodie Foster). Alexandra is agoraphobic and never leaves the house. She rarely even opens her front door. Alex also has a wild immagination, whereas her fictional character Alex Rover (also Gerard Butler) talks to her, mocks her, and gives her pep talks. When they find Nim’s Letter, fictional Alex badgers alexandra until he finally convinces her to leave the confines of her townhouse to go and help Nim. After a long and terrifying journey, both of the Alex’s make it to Nim’s Island and try to help.

Enchanted the movie 2007
Last night, I watched this stunning movie in Queensbay Mall. It was one of the best movies I have seen in 2007 with love and romance and living happily ever after. Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful animated world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely, animals are talkative companions and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. She dreams of her true love and builds a statue wearing a blue jacket to represent him from her dream with the help of her chipmunk friend Pip and other forest animals. She sings about her true love’s kiss, and Prince Edward (James Marsden), a handsome and valiant but dimwitted prince who hears her voice in the forest, rescues her from an ogre. Giselle and Edward get engaged, but her fate takes a turn for worse on her wedding day when his stepmother, the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon), throws her through a magic portal to a place where there is no happily ever after in order to keep her son single and thus remain queen.

Giselle meets divorcee Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey), who takes her into his apartment despite believing that she is a little crazy, and he is nervous for his daughter Morgan. Robert is a divorce lawyer who doesn’t believe in Giselle’s gushings of happily-ever-after and true love’s first kiss. The next morning he becomes aggravated when he and his daughter find Giselle has rats and other vermin cleaning their apartment and that she has constructed a dress using material cut from the curtains. Nancy (Idina Menzel), Giselle starts to sob when she finds out that his client and her husband are getting a divorce, causing Robert’s boss to angrily reprimand him. Robert takes Giselle, and they go outside the building to Central Park.

Meanwhile, Queen Narissa’s henchman Nathaniel (Timothy Spall) goes after Edward and Pip, who have journeyed off to save Giselle. They stop at a motel, where Nathaniel sneaks out to give Giselle a poisoned apple, while Pip, unable to speak in this world, has a frustrating time alerting the Prince of the minion’s intentions. Nathaniel tries twice to poison Giselle, only to be stopped by Pip, and Narissa becomes infuriated. Robert tells her he will help her because he doesn’t believe Edward will show up. She yells at him, and becomes giddy when she finds out that she is experiencing anger for the first time. They both stare at each other for a moment and come close enough to kiss but Robert turns and bids her good night. Giselle falls into a chair, confused, realizing she is falling for him, and he does the same on his bed.

At the ball, Giselle begins to finally realize that Robert is her true love. Nancy and Edwards keep their eyes on the couple. Nancy decides to cut in and continue dancing with Robert. Giselle and Edward turn to return to Andalasia, and Giselle is visibly upset as they leave the ball. Edward leaves her by the elevators to get her coat.

Narissa appears as the old hag. Seeing Giselle become distressed when she watches Nancy kiss Robert on the dance floor, Narissa offers her an apple that she says will make Giselle forget the whole experience. She takes it and collapses on the floor. Edward returns, and Narissa claims Giselle fainted as Robert and Nancy run to Giselle’s aid. A remorseful Nathaniel appears and admits the plot that she was poisoned, sadly, with his help. He restrains Narissa with Edward’s sword. If the spell isn’t broken in a minute (when it will be midnight), Giselle will die.

Remembering her belief in true love’s first kiss, Robert tells Edward to kiss her, only to find it doesn’t work. Edward turns to Robert and realizes that his kiss has failed because Robert is her true love. Robert immediately denies this, but Nancy says it’s okay and tells him to kiss her before it’s too late. He does, and Giselle wakes up. Narissa breaks free from Nathaniel, seizes Edward’s sword from him and then transforms into a dragon as she impales the sword onto the dance floor. Narissa declares that she will have to kill them all. She plans to start with Giselle, but Robert intervenes and is promptly seized. Narissa climbs on top of the building with Robert in hand. Giselle grabs Edward’s sword from the dance floor and follows, leaving a slipper behind.

Giselle chases the dragon to the point where, thanks to help from Pip, it falls off the Woolworth Building and dissolves into glitter on the pavement. Giselle catches Robert just in time as he falls, and they kiss on the roof. Meanwhile, Edward puts the slipper on Nancy’s foot, and they go back to Andalasia and get married. Robert and Giselle open up Andalasia Fashions where they are assisted by both humans and animals.

In the meantime Nathanael becomes a successful author in the modern world writing a book entitled “My Royal Pain” and signing autographs. Similarly, Pip becomes a bestselling author in Andalasia, writing a book called “Silence Is Not Golden.” The last scene shows Giselle and Robert with his daughter Morgan playing together and living happily ever after as a family in his apartment.

Above is the waltz dancing during the 7th International Dance Competition in PISA on 25th November 2007. There were various categories of dancing such as cha cha cha, rhumba, samba, tango, quick step, waltz and paso doble. The costumes were opulent, dazzling with ‘diamonds’, silk and taffeta. The tickets cost RM15 each and I paid for 4 persons including myself and parents.

Here is the quick step dance which is much faster and livelier than waltz. If couples are too engrossed in dancing and don’t look out, they can bump into another couple. There are more than 50 judges from various countries in this competition.

That’s me para-sailing in Pattaya. The tour guide took this shot for me. It was like clock work with the para-sailing guides lifting one tourist after another.

Landed safely and got rid of the parasailing gear. It was some experience being lifted up to the skies and viewing the seas below. See the queue on my right side waiting to be lifted up in motor boats.

Pattaya has very beautiful unpolluted blue seas and long stretch of white fine sands on the beaches. It is a tourists’ haven. See how many speed boats there are here. I also went for a speed boat ride with my youngest sister with a guide behind us showing how to use the speed boat.

Came back after sea walking (in earlier post) to the white sandy beaches, all wet but very satisfied participating in the many water activities.

In Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. See the sculpted hedges, trees and gardens.

Long almost-langciau-like cacti in the background. Beware, this prick will be ouch! Got the red collared shirt from China with Beijing Olympics 2008 logo in August 2007. It complements the green background and stands out clearly in all my photos.

Big round cacti. This time you don’t see them in little small plastic pots.

A different desert plant. This one is rather spikey like a Christmas tree.

With my youngest sister in sunglasses. Notice how vast the gardens are.
