I just came back from Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi this week for business trips in both destinations. This time around, I did not buy any guys clothing as the time was too short for shopping. During my trip to Haadyai last year, I bought some guys clothing for my friend who has been very faithful to me. I had to specially choose the guys clothing from a departmental store and make sure that it fits his size – he is on the short side but quite muscular due to carrying heavy weights in his younger days while helping his late dad in the family hardware business.

I love and cherish the frienship of my friend who happens to be my boss as well for the last 7 plus years. Our friendship is good for the sports business as we meet up every day to discuss about the business and how to get more clients. I also print out customer enquiries from the emails and pass them to him to be notified and he will fax to me the replies before I type into the email reply to the customer. He can check his email via his iPad 2 but I will be the one to reply to them on his behalf. His old lap top is spoilt since some time back, so I am his only source for information revolving the company business.

Now at this age of late thirties, I have to shop around for plus size womens clothing in the departmental stores or shopping malls. As I love food too much and hate to exercise, I have put on some weight and my body mass index or abbreviated as BMI is under overweight or obese. Hence, the only clothes that can fit me are plus size womens clothing. In Gurney Plaza, an up market lifestyle shopping mall, there are 2 stores that sell plus size womens clothing and I love them for the variety and designs. Now I have lots of clothes to wear and the cupboard is loaded almost to the brim with my new clothes. Sometimes, I have to squeeze them in and am having storage problems.

Whenever I travel overseas, I will buy some clothes and my second sister also buys me clothes so that we siblings all wear the same clothes when we travel together. We have been to Bangkok, Bandung, Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen and some states of Malaysia like Kuching, Ipoh, Melaka, etc – all travelling together as a family. It is better to travel with my sisters than with other people whom you don’t know. So, whenever we have leave and some cash from our savings, we will plan another holidays together and help finance each other like someone will pay for air fare, another will pay for accommodation and ground tour, another will pay for food for the 3 of us.

Today I have lots of offers to take up and am busy as a bee in my home office. After all, it is not often that you get lots of offers like today. And since I am not required to travel today, I can comfortably write the articles and submit them all by today. This is how I am kept occupied for some cash allowance instead of doing nothing or napping away. The year end is also a busy time for me as we need to send out promotional material to people all over Malaysia for our business. I also need to design calendars for next year and buy envelopes plus stamps. It is the determination to endure hard work and the tenacity to see it through that spells success for our business. The diligent shall have plenty to eat but the slothful who does not life a finger will go hungry.

I might be going to KL tomorrow for business. My colleague and I will meet up with a potential client there before we come back to Penang after 1 or 2 days there. Just last week, I was also in KL, also for business. It is good to have a thriving business where we can get enquiries now and then and some serious customers wish to meet up with us for the project. The only way to be rich is through investment, inheritance, marrying into rich spouse and doing a successful business. You can also be wealthy if you have a specialist talent and knowledge like being a lawyer, doctor, engineer, accountant, etc. but working for other people is slower to be rich compared to doing your own business. Unfortunately, 95% of businesses fail in the first 5 years of operation and have to wind down. Only the remaining 5% will strike it rich.

I would love to retire, sit back and smell the roses. My dad took optional retirement the moment I got a scholarship to study in Singapore for my A levels. And being the eldest, I had to help support my younger sisters, two of them, in their varsity studies. Nobody likes to work if they have an option to retire and knows that their bread and butter is taken care of. I would love to retire soon, but then that is not an option for me for the moment. I still need to save up for my retirement plan and make sure that my passive income is more than enough to tide me through the years of not working.

I am a bit tired from all the frequent travelling long distances around Malaysia and feel like retiring soon. It is very time consuming sitting for long hours in the car and the ferry for my recent trip to Langkawi. I just feel like calling it quits but then I still need to save up for my retirement down the road in years to come. I don’t really know how long I can keep up the pace, but my boss who is in his sixties is still very strong and able to drive long distances. Sometimes, money is not everything, but health takes precedence over all things. Without health, you cannot work and move around.

It was a hectic business trip to Langkawi where we stayed for 1 night only after arriving late in the evening and took the ferry from Kuala Kedah. The trip by ferry took about 1.5 hours and then we headed for dinner before checking into a hotel. Early the next morning, after breakfast, we headed to a local resort there which wanted to turn its tennis court into a futsal court. Since they wanted the quotation by 15th September, I had to type there using the business centre while my colleague had to find a stationary shop to buy a big A4 size envelop. After that we headed back to the hotel where we had to check out by 1:00pm and went to a small coffee shop to wait for another potential client.

After discussing for 20 minutes, the client brought us to see his boss, which is a government body and our product was approved. Immediately he wrote a check to be cleared on the 25th September and my colleague managed to confirm another sports project. We returned the rented car, got back $50 and bought a ferry ticket for 6:00 pm ferry which could possibly be the last for the day. We had dinner at KFC and then promptly boarded the ferry which took 1.5 hours to read Kuala Kedah plus another 1.5 hours on the road by car to drive back to my house.

I was watching 3 movies in a row consecutively for 3 days at the Golden Screen Cinemas in Gurney Plaza. Some of them were 3D while others are normal movies. I saw Spy Kids 4D, The Zookeeper and Glee Movie Concernt 3D. We had a long holidays over the Hari Raya and Merdeka day for about 1 week. Most of the factories in Bayan Lepas were closed for 1 week because majority of the technicians are Malays and they need to celebrate their annual new year after a month of fasting known as Ramadhan.

In the meantime, you can check out home security russellville by clicking on the links to read more about the information from the page that loads in your browser. Those in USA can also watch Direct TV in the comforts of their homes if they were to subscribe to the channel or cable-connected television. Direct TV has many interesting channels to view from news to documentaries, dramas to music and entertainment.

I am also reading up a lot of information on creating my own ebook that sells and will go through ClickBank to accept the payment through credit cards for me. There is a lot of learn up but in the past I have set up my own web site selling ebooks using 2CheckOut and the income was so-so.

Today, I cancelled 2 HSBC credit cards due to the additional government charge of $50 for each card per year. I still have 4 credit cards which I intend to cancel some more and keep only 1 or 2 credit cards. I only use HSBC credit card 4 times in a year and this does not justify for me to maintain the cards for so many years before the government service charge was announced early this year.

Just the other day, I was window shopping in Gurney Plaza, Penang’s upmarket lifestyle shopping mall along Gurney Drive and saw very nice cufflinks. The cufflinks are made of metal like silver or stainless steel that does not corrode. You can check out on cufflinks by clicking on the links given and read more about them. Who knows, you might like to purchase them online as well using the safe and secure payment gateway.

I also went to SOCSO on my own for the first time without my parents accompanying me this time around. And I save money on treating them expensive lunch for each trip that they come with me. It is so nice to be independent now and no longer do I have to wait half an hour for my parents to get ready and go out. The parking was easy too as there were no cars around at the time I went there. There were ample parking bays in the SOCSO compound.

And this afternoon, I have written 2 checks for EPF or Employees Provident Fund for the contribution of the employees and also another check for SOCSO insurance payment. I also wrote a third check to pay off my Citibank credit card for this month. I always make sure that the bank receives my credit card check before the due date so that I will not be charged extra 17% interests per month for late payment! This is very exorbitant and I don’t want to incur unnecessary charges.

I have bought 2 Business books last week on finance and how to grow your money. There are also executive book summaries that you can view in the internet done by someone who comes from a poor family but make good and doing well now being author and business consultant. The executive book summaries are quite comprehensive and are in pdf format, so they can be read through the computer. Books can be your best friends. They give you knowledge that you would not get from your family or friends. Knowledge is power, which is a famous tagline anywhere you go in Singapore. That is why Singapore is so progressive and advanced compared to Malaysia with its very narrow-minded racist politics being practised since Independence Day.

Did you know that Singapore’s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew got double first class honors in Law from Cambridge University and his departed wife also got first class honors? Under the leadership of such a smart intelligent man, Singapore is what it is today, thanks to Lee Kuan Yew. But not every citizen is happy with his policies that keep bringing in foreign talent to the country so that it can prosper further. They find they have to face with stiff competition who are willing to work for less pay and work harder.

If you do business on eBay, you need to invest in shipping supplies like shrink wrap, poly bags and mailing tubes, amongst others. There are many millionaire eBay sellers who are platinum holders. These people are serious in their work via eBay and are trusted suppliers from happy, satisfied and discerning clients. They start from small and slowly grow their online business to become multi-millionaires. They buy professionally-made eBay templates and upload them to eBay with minor changes to the information and the web site acts as their shop front to attract customers from around the world.

eBay is a good business to turn to especially for those who are retrenched or unemployed and jobless. There is no free lunch and you cannot depend on the government to feed you all the time. Money has to be earned and not expect to be given out freely. That is why you should teach a man how to fish and not give him fish. If you teach him how to fish, you feed him a lifetime. If you give him a fish, you feed him for a day! This was the idiom my father used to tell me very often when I was small, so I will always remember his wisdom.

I used to receive many greeting cards during Chinese New Year in my school days. There are also various designs that you can choose for the birthday cards or greeting cards like Mid Century Design or Personalized Holiday Cards and Modern Invitations. The cards are a perfect reminder of the people who love us to care enough to send cards to us. We should always keep them for life and cherish the moments with our loved ones and friends. As for me, I have lost count on the number of greeting cards that I have received over the years but it is a tradition in my family to send each other a birthday card once a year.

They are a poignant reminder of the thoughts and care sent by the sender behind each card. And it is not the value of the card but rather the thought behind it that counts. When I was small, I used to make birthday cards for my parents, scribbling them, and colouring them with pictures and textures. My parents have also sent me for Art tuition in my school days and I have won Art prizes twice before in my school. My posters were pinned up along the high traffic staircase where every student can see the product of my work.

This morning, as I woke up quite early at around 6:30am, I checked for opportunities and found several. So now I am in a blogging marathon which reminds me that Penang Star Walk 2011 starts next month and you can start registration now. I also received a free ebook to review which will need to be paid for other people later on to access it. My food blog has attracted international attention and I have been contacted before for an interview with an Australian Radio show on Clinic Cafe but I had to gently turn it down. Otherwise, it would mean more traffic spikes for my food blog. But it is doing fine on its own.

My background is in Information Technology which I graduated in 1994 from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. I have worked in some companies that practise IT security compliance and used network and security in their computer systems with mainframes and servers all interlinked together. They also have network security software installed for protection and robustness. Gone are those days where I worked in the IT area. Now my work involves mainly administration and finances like calculation of worker’s pay, typing quotations, replying emails, printing enquiries and diagrams and updating the company web site with more reference projects.

I have been gainfully employed in the same company for 7.5 years already since 2004 and will never look for other opportunities as I love my current job. There are some perks here and there and these has kept me very satisfied. Since I work in a home office, I am literally my own boss, commanding the hours that I work by. Sometimes, when I am tired, I can also go upstairs to take a short nap or read newspapers to be kept updated on current issues. Despite all these freedom, my boss knows that I am conscientious and will never take advantage of the situation. This is because I get the job done every day.
