Automotive Flags

The Malaysian national day is coming and it falls on 31st August 2011. You will see more automotive flags being installed on cars along the road with pennant strings attached. There may be some custom flags here and there in the various parts of the country. Usually, business entities are encouraged to put up flags to commemorate this occasion. But frankly speaking, sometimes I wish we did not get independence from the British as the Malays especially UMNO only fight for their own race, the bumiputras or literally means ‘prince of the earth’. That is the name that they exalt themselves into. To be honest, the Malays lack initiative and always depend on handouts from the Malaysian government because they cannot compete on a level playing field with the other races like the Chinese and Indians.

They are extremely lazy, unmotivated lot and are always missing in action in the government departments who employ the majority of them to collect monthly salaries and spoon feeding them. This has continued since independence but there are a few of the smart muslims like Azizi Ali who is a famous speaker and author. There are others like LAT as well who is famous for his cartoons in the newspapers.
