I bought my first car on 14th February 2007. It has been running smoothly for me all these years with regular car service at the Perodua work shop in Penang. It is a Myvi which is the best selling model in Malaysia according to the newspapers. At the time of purchase, I did not know that this model is hot but I simply loved the design and ease of parking since it is quite compact. There are also wind deflectors attached to it to shield the interior of the car from rain and thunder storm. My sisters and I have drove it to Melaka, Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh during our road trip for a siblings get together and holidays in local places.
My sisters love to drive my car since it is fully automatic and you don’t have to keep shifting gears in heavy traffic jams – something that Penang is notorious for. For a small island, we have far too many cars on the road nowadays. Many people prefer to own cars than to take public transport; giving rise to snarling traffic jams. Sometimes we go for holidays together whenever my second sister comes back from Suchou, China for 1 month break. She works there as the head of English Business Department for Hong Kong Space Global College and has been doing very well indeed. On top of that she also introduced Toast Masters to her college and got it registered with USA. She has won prizes for public speaking – something that she does naturally due to her job nature. In 2 years’ time, she plans to take up her pHd in United Kingdom after having saved up enough money for her studies there.
