I have gone back to doing paid posts for Gadgetell.com since 2006 and after a one year break in 2007 because of other commitments. I did try my hands at writing students’ term papers ALA style and undergraduate assignments but to no avail. The requirements were too scholarstic and I prefer to write without sticking too closely to the project title, though it pays about USD4-10 per page, double spacing. There may be many revisions before you see your money. Too time consuming. Someone from GAF did email me for on the spot writing essays and I did communicate with her via Google Talk which was a very basic chat messenger. And the pay? USD2 for 500 words. She’s from India which explains why the amount is below market rate.

At the moment, I am eager for any job assignments because to me some money coming in is better than nothing at all. And I get to leverage my plenty of free time online for better purposes instead of chatting through MIRC or Yahoo Messenger. And I am still reeling from the fact that I lost RM4k within 6 months due to unwise investments in public mutual unit trusts, all thanks to dad’s instigation. He thinks Fixed Deposits are too slow but I feel safer in FD and the capital is protected unlike mutual funds where there is an immediate 5% deduction upon joining.
