Yesterday, I had a good rest after coming back from Penang’s City Bayview Hotel. At around RM187 per night with buffet breakfast included, the price is reasonable. But one thing I don’t like is the parking area. I had to walk out to the lift, and from 4th floor go to 2nd floor and then walk out some distance to the hotel lift. Then from the hotel lift only can I go to the ground floor of the hotel lounge and reception area. We had to ask for directions and got lost while going to the lobby from the car park. Other than that, the rest like the rooms was fine and food was ok.

I just check my VMI (Virtual Money Inc) account and RM1,606.83 has been banked in from my PayPal. This is money earned from blogging. I took up paid blogging from various programs such as PayPerPost, Sponsored Reviews, Blogsvertise, LoudLaunch, Smorty, Bloggerwave, etc. The income is not fixed, as some months there may be more opportunities while other months, there are hardly any opps to take up. It takes about 4-5 days for the money to be in my account after the transfer from PayPal. On average, each month, I get additional RM1,500 from paid blogging activities.

Today is Malaysia’s 50th anniversary of independance since British occupation in 1957. For the last 50 years, we have lived with some freedom to make money and live as a normal citizen. With the status quo, I hope we can achieve further prosperity with the different races living side by side to make Malaysia a successful nation.

And you can grab the nice Happy Merdeka banners from Enveluv.com. He has designed a few beautiful banners just for this special occasion and public holiday today. Most people have taken 3-4 days of continuous holidays outstation or stay in a local hotel like myself. Well, I just came back from Penang’s City Bayview with the revolving restaurant. Last night, I saw beautiful fireworks displayed at the stroke of midnight to declare Merdaka Day.

Last night at about 10:00, I reached home after a long drive from KL. We had planned to come home yesterday to avoid the Merdeka holiday goers coming back today for the long weekend. In fact, my youngest sister has gone to KL this morning, 7 of them in an 8-wheel drive. The trip was successful, and we visited 4 different places. There will be continuous work for our workers and they don’t have to worry about being out of job as long as they work for us. The company is very blessed with plenty of projects and work.

Evan AlmightyI just came back from watching Evan Baxter of Bruce Almighty. Evan Almighty is a 2007 comedy film, and sequel to the 2003 film Bruce Almighty. It was directed by Tom Shadyac and stars Steve Carell, and Lauren Graham, with Morgan Freeman reprising his role as God. The show was hilariously funny with the back up animals trailing Evan all the time. Everyone thought Evan was going crazy building a huge ark and predicting the floods will be coming on 22nd September. Well, the floods did come, but not from the rain. The nearby dam broke and could not contain the water due to shoddy work and greed. And Genesis 4:16 keeps reminding Evan to build an ark initially when he was opposed to the idea, before he had to give in to God’s command.

It all started when newly elected to Congress, former local TV newsman Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) leaves Buffalo behind and shepherds his family to suburban northern Virginia. His congressional campaign declared that he would change the world, but he never stated how. Once he reaches his new home and job, strange things start to happen. Animals (all different kinds of animals) start following Evan around. He grows a beard that won’t go away no matter how many times he shaves. Eight vacant lots in Evan’s neighborhood are purchased in Evan’s name. Stone age tools and wood planks are sent to his house.

And the number 614 appears everywhere he goes. Evan soon learns that the number is a verse in the Bible. In the book of Genesis, 6:14 is the verse in which God instructs Noah to build the ark. Soon after, God (Morgan Freeman) appears and mysteriously commands him to build an ark because a flood is coming. His family comes to believe he is having an extraordinary mid-life crisis, but soon thinks he is truly onto something of Biblical proportions. God tells Evan the flood will come September 22 mid-day. Animals start following Evan to Congress causing him to eventually be suspended by Congressman Long (John Goodman) from work after he tells everyone that God told him to build an ark. His wife Joan and his three sons leave for her mother’s house after seeing it on a news report, leaving him to build the ark himself, which gains international notice. Weeks after Joan leaves Evan, God appears to her as a waiter at a diner. He tells her that God doesn’t give things, he gives the opportunity to get things. For example, God doesn’t give a family togetherness, he gives the opportunity for families to be together. Seeing his meaning, Joan returns to Evan to finish the ark together. Incidentally ARK is the acronym is an Ack of Random Kindness done one at a time.

The weekend has arrived. It is time for me to choose a hotel in Penang to stay for 1 night provided there is vacancy. Last week, after coming back from KL, I did not go to any other hotels but stayed at home and slept under my silk comforter which I bought from China. It was so comfortable that I chose to stay at home instead. The week before, I stayed in Dorsett Hotel very near to Giant Supermarket. I have taken photos of the room but did not find the time to put them up in my blogs. I am excited as it means a restful time for me.

I went to Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne in 1986 when I was 16 years old. I went there to participate in 150th South Australian State Guide Camp in Douglas Scrub in Adelaide. It was an exhilarating experience and my first time to travel overseas that far away from home. Sydnes has many attractions including the Blue Mountains with the legend of the 3 sisters turning to rocks. While in Sydney, you can also check out Sydney Hotel Accommodation or Cheap Sydney Hotels from Cheaper Than Hotels dot com dot au.

There are many Cheap Hotels in Sydney for you to choose from. I also remembered buying a small drop of opal pendant with 5 colors from Sydney in Blue Mountains. While on the road, you will see a lot of burnt stumps on the outskirts on the way to the Blue Mountains. It is a straight road all the way to the foothills.

I was supposed to go down to KL today, but due to incoming shipment that needs to be cleared, we have postponed the trip. We were supposed to meet up with potential clients in a hotel and a sports club in KL. Our jobs in KL are near completion, so our workers need continuous work to support themselves and their families. Hence, it is time to do marketing again and hopefully the jobs will arrive sooner than expected.

Ratatouille the movie
Last night, I watch an interesting animated movie in Queensbay Mall, Ratatouille. Academy Award®-winning director Brad Bird (“The Incredibles”) and the amazing storytellers at Pixar Animation Studios (“Cars,” “Finding Nemo”) take you into an entirely new and original world where the unthinkable combination of a rat and a 5-star gourmet restaurant come together for the ultimate fish-out-of-water tale.

In the hilarious new animated-adventure, RATATOUILLE, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the city of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unwanted visitor in the kitchen at one of Paris’ most exclusive restaurants, Remy forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the garbage boy, who inadvertently discovers Remy’s amazing talents. They strike a deal, ultimately setting into motion a hilarious and exciting chain of extraordinary events that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

Remy finds himself torn between following his dreams or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.

During my trip to Beijing, the tour group went to a jade factory on the way to the Great Wall of China. They even have their own web site, www.bonajadestore.com.cn and you can order your jade bangles from the internet. Just pay by Western Union if you have a credit card. I got myself a very bright green jade pendant for 2,400 yuan or RM1,200. It is a jadeite which is very hard. If diamond has a hard index of 10, jadeite has an index of 7. I have worn it during my trip to the Great Wall of China and you can see it in my previous photos.

It is now about 8:30am. I am still feeling sleepy just woken up. My silk comforter which I bought from Beijing for 600 yuan or RM300 is so soft, silky and very very comfortable to use. With the air con turned on, it makes my sleep very restful and deep sleep. It is a pity I could not fit into the satin pyjamas, otherwise I will still be in dreamland slumbering away. After this, I plan to go back napping for a while if there is not much work.
