I am back from KL

Yesterday afternoon, I reach my house after a very bad traffic jam in Rawang, Selangor. We took off at 7:00pm as my boss had to rush back to Penang to hand in documents for the shipment waiting in the port. This is for an important project for a client in Pahang and they want the court to be completed soon. We did not predict that there will be any traffic jams even at this hour late in the evening and thought that the traffic ought to be less busy. But to our surprise, there were so many vehicles heading north in the North-South Highway.

The traffic jam delayed us by 1 hour waiting on the road crawling at turtle speed bumper to bumper. My boss was prepared to turn back and stay in KL instead but we could not find any roads to turn back. So we decided to just follow the highway as there was not any other choice. Finally, not knowing the cause of the jam, the traffic cleared and cars started to pick up speed and move at the normal driving range. So we decided to stopover for 1 night in a hotel in Ipoh.

Since Ipoh is a retirement town, there were not many hotels to choose and we immediately stop the car as soon as we saw one reasonably furnished by the road. It was very old fashioned, and the hotel was probably built in around the 40s, with all the old furnishings in the room. By that time, it was already 12:00am and thank goodness we finally found a place to rest.

After breakfast of a plate of shrimp dried wan ton noodles, we set forth for Penang and finally arrive at my house at 11:00am. It is good to be home after much travelling.
