When I was in Singapore renting from a tenant, it was just plain unlivable condition with the landlord trying to control me and I just don’t have any freedom. If I come back late at night due to dinner with my Singapore relatives, the granny will be sitting waiting for me and keep looking at the clock and then at me as if I should be back much earlier. But, hey, I am paying for my rental every month and it is not that I am staying there for free.

Finally I decided to buy a small apartment of my own. Being a PR in Singapore, I had to share the flat with my sister who’s also working there. The law requires 2 PR holders to share the HDB flat. Using money from my CPF, I was able to take loan from the government to finance the flat costing S$105,000 at market value. It was a small 3 room HDB flat. In the States, if you are looking to buy a property for living in or even rental, check out South Boston Real Estate.
