When I was still single, I went to the all women’s gym at 3 times a day for at least an hour working out. Sometimes I join the aerobics, or step exercise and others according to the weekly schedule. Fitness women feel better of themselves and are more energetic and thus more productive in their work. They have better muscle strength and more discipline in dieting. I also did some weight training to tone and firm up the muscles. At that time, my Body Mass Index or BMI was at its ideal range. When I first started at the Armore All Women’s Gym in Singapore, I did have a personal trainer to help me get started and guided me with the various training machines as most of them are computerized.

Now, I am in my middle thirties and a little off the ideal BMI, but I have my rounds of walking in the shopping complexes almost daily after dinner with my friend. I did join Celebrity Fitness Gym on the seventh floor in Gurney Plaza, but due to my busy schedule, I sometimes find myself unable to attend and the fees are not cheap for each session. So, after 2 months, I quit and go back to my window shopping exercise. Furthermore, there are too many guys and I feel more comfortable in an all women’s gym. Do check out NoExcusesGym.com, a blog by a lady personal trainer for articles and information on getting fit and reducing weight. This is a sponsored post.

    Proverbs 22

    3. A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.
    4. The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.
    6. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
    7. The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
    24. Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man,
    25. lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.
    29. Do you see a man skilful in his work? he will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.

Verse 4 of Proverbs 22 is particularly interesting for it says the reward for humility and reverence of the Lord is riches, honor and life. This is so true in all aspects of life. Even in terms of blogging, I need to watch out what I write for the whole world is reading my blogs. I would like to portray myself as someone positive, diligent, kind and easygoing. Not one who is out to get somebody for some errors done in the past. Also, verse 24 says make no friendship with a man given to anger, for fear you learn of his bad habit and get yourself ensnared. So, who you mix with and are in close contact may influence your behavior and temperament. Be careful who you mingle with and choose your friends wisely.

    Carolling in Gurney Plaza
As we were in Gurney Plaza to catch a movie BarnYard recently, I chanced upon this caroling group from a Chinese Speaking Church in Gurney Plaza’s main foyer, in line with the jolly season. I wished I could videotape the caroling and put up in YouTube, but as our show was about to begin, I only managed to take this quick photo before going to the cinema. The carolers were dressed somewhat quite insipid with white tops and black bottoms but I guess this attire is what most people would have and able to wear them many times over again compared to the bright red and green of Christmas theme.

We all need good health to work and be productive. However, enzyme deficiency is the root cause of many metabolic diseases and disorders. Basically enzymes are essential to nutrient absorption. If you routinely experience digestive difficulties such as heartburn, reflux, constipation or diarrhea or find yourself lacking energy no matter how wisely you choose those power foods, an enzyme deficiency may be to blame.

Enzyme deficiencies can be a factor in: diabetes, hypoglycemia, high cholesterol and high blood pressure, Colitis, IBS and Crohn’s Disease, chronic fatigue, underweight and overweight, circulatory and metabolism problems and weakened immune response. If you have any of the above, check out this site Enzymecorrect to Detoxify. This is a sponsored post.

    Pie Tee
The above is another of my ordered dish recently at Chicken Rice Shop. It is called Pie Tee which is julienned turnips and carrots with mushrooms stir-fried together and put into a cup of fried battered crust. This is one of the Nonya food, the Straits Settlement Chinese recipe. We Chinese have a penchant for food and come up with many delicious recipes that have been copied by others, namely the malays here in Malaysia.

    green kale
This was my dinner of a plate of green kale topped with shallots, soya sauce and oyster sauce from Chicken Rice Shop last night. As I don’t take rice to reduce carbohydrate intake, I only had vegetables and this was one of them. I guess to maintain the dark green color of the fresh kale, you need to boil them in hot water with a teaspoon of oil so that the color does not fade and the dark green chlorophyl is maintained in the leafy veges. This dish was tasty and the picture above speaks for itself.

    roasted chicken
We had dinner last night in Chicken Rice Shop in the basement of Gurney Plaza where the food is. Above is what my sister ordered of a set of roasted chicken with rice, soup and bean sprouts (Picture will be shown later). It was tasty and originated from Chinese recipes and now taken over by this apparently Malay owner of the restaurant. Shortly later, after dinner and reading newspapers to while away time, we went to watch a movie, BarnYard.

Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in his mouth and not all parents are millionaires. For most of us, we need loans to pay for our children’s education, buy a house or even to get married and go for holidays overseas. There are many types of loans from personal loans for personal use like building a business, or even for daily use, etc to secured loans for your housing mortgage. You can compare the different types of loans to suit your needs at a certain point in time. As for me, I did take some study loan from a bank to finance my university education and pay them slowly on a monthly basis for 3 years upon working. At that time, I did not even have the money to go for Europe tour like most of my friends after 4 hard years of slogging studying away to finally get my degree.

    Proverbs Chapter 21.

    5. The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but every one who is hasty comes only to want.
    6. The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a snare of death.
    9. It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a contentious woman. 17. He who loves pleasure will be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich.
    19. It is better to live in a desert land than with a contentious and fretful woman.
    20. Precious treasure remains in a wise man’s dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.
    21. He who pursues righteousness and kindness will find life and honor.
    23. He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.
    25. The desire of the sluggard kills him for his hands refuse to labor.

These verses are taken from BibleLookup.com using the RSV version. Verse 5 of Proverbs 21 is particularly interesting. It says the plans of the diligent surely lead to abundance which is so true today. God has destined us to work with our hands and not to be slothful after Adam’s fall. Verse 17 also strikes out to me. He who loves pleasure will be poor and one who is frivolous and enjoys the good things in live but do not continue to work will surely come to poverty. All the money will be spent.
