Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in his mouth whereby your parents are rich enough to sponsor your studies overseas, more so in UK. Nor everyone smart enough to secure fully paid scholarships for your studies. These secured loans are repaid over a longer period of time also, typically 3 to 25 years and loan amounts can go as high as £250,000, however this is unusual as the normal largest amount is £75,000.

I did take some bursary from Singapore government and the bank to pay for my tuition fees and subsequently pay off the loan on a monthly basis when I started working.
