In 2 hours time, 2007 will usher in with a bang! While the Auld Lang Syne song is played for 2006, there are a lot of good and bad memories of this year. The good news are many like Nicol David retaining her Women’s World Championship in Squash for the second time and winning many games since her defeat in the Melbourne Games in March. The other news come with mixed feelings. Saddam Hussein was hanged yesterday morning. Growing up from a poor family without a father, he rose to power and was actually an ally of the USA which even sponsored his law studies until he invaded Kuwait, a close US ally for oil business. Saddam also planned an assassination attempt of the elder President Bush. Well, with the hanging, this marks the end of Saddam’s era before the 2007 ushers in.

As for me, I hope 2007 will bring more good prosperity and better health to continue working hard and living life at the fullest. I also hope not to forget to continue praying for my granny’s salvation. She’s very frail now when I visited her recently. As she was sleeping, we did not disturb her and let her continue her slumber in the old folks’ home.

Boise is the heart of Idaho’s Boise-Nampa metro. For a variety of reasons such as low cost of doing business, a central location and a high quality of life, Boise has become home to many large businesses and corporate headquarters. Some examples include Hewlett-Packard, Boise Cascade, Albertson’s and Micron Technology. These ample employment opportunities certainly add to the appeal of living in Boise. Due to the quality of life, people are moving in to Boise and you can check out Boise real estate in BoiseHomesGuide.com for more information on buying property there.

Boise has many accolades. Fortune Magazine rated Boise as Number 1 on its 2005 list of Best Places for Business And Careers. The selection was based on income and job growth, cost of labor, qualification of the labor pool, and lifestyle-oriented factors such as housing costs and low crime rates. Other awards to the city include the Second Best City in America to do Business, by Inc. Magazine in 2005.

When you move to Boise, you are moving to a growing area that is experiencing a housing boom. If possible you will want to hone in on and pin down your home before you go. The housing demands right now have outpaced the providers. Also, prepare for intense negotiations since this makes it a seller’s market! This is a sponsored post.

sharks fin soup
The above pictures are taken from Hok Wok in Genting Highlands. The sharks fin soup was delicious though a bit starchy. The royale king crab was superb, the first time I ever tasted. This restaurant specializes in crabs in different types of dishes and cooking.
mushroom butter crab
The mushroom butter crab was simply ambroisia. The butter and mushrooms just melts in my mouth and makes me want for more.
green kale
The green kale was cooked in a pot as shown above.
combined dishes
There are the several dishes that I had plus another one with omelette which I omit to snap. The four dishes together with rice cost about RM175.

My friend treated me to a dinner for two at Genting’s Hot Pot Restaurant, well known for its crab specialties. Here is some “emperor’s food” that whet your appetite and tantalize your tastebuds. The double boiled sharks’ fin soup with royale king crab is certainly a gastronomical delight. And the meal itself is not cheap. It costs about RM175 for 2 persons and there are at least 8 chefs so busy cooking away in the glass windowed kitchen and specially prepared ingredients. The pictures will be put up when the internet is more stable and can be uploaded easily to Flickr.

I took some very groovy videos of a Malaysian version of Tom Jones singing in the public foyer of the First World hotel resort, the world’s largest hotel with 6118 rooms. It was recorded during pre-Christmas day on the 24th December when merry makers gather to hear and enjoy the music. As the internet is extremely slow, I will only upload to YouTube when the underwater cable in Taiwan has been restored and the internet speed is much improved.

Though Christmas may be over but for many consumers it still has to be paid for. Credit cards now make up a huge share of the amount consumers spend over Christmas and New Year period in the UK. Most of the spending is done during this time of the year amidst much merry making and guzzling gastronomical delights. If you have credit cards from other companies, you can have 0% balance transfers to CardGuide.com.uk and compare credit cards for the best offer and lowest fees. During the recent Yuletide season, I did spend about RM240 for a set dinner for 2 in Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant in Genting Highlands for my just concluded trip to this mountain resort. This is the most I ever spent in a single bill and come January, it is pay time but I can afford it. Thanks to PPP money that rolls in almost each day. This is a sponsored post.

I was back from year end holidays in Genting Highlands from 23rd to 25th Decemberand working trip to Langkawi recently from 25th to 26th December 2006. The many beautiful photos taken will be put up later when the undersea cable has been restored in Taiwan in 2-3 weeks time. Due to the strong 7.1 magnitude earth quake in Taiwan’s southern tip recently, telephone and internet services were disrupted across Asia on Wednesday. The undersea cables used by phone customers and web surfers from Japan to South-East Asia and even the United States were damaged.

So I can expect the internet to be extremely slow and can consider myself lucky to be able to post here using my local Malaysian server for my blog. It seems that blogger.com is unaccessible and this is most bloggers’ bane. Hence, I am counting on my lucky stars each day.

Hewlett Packard and PayPerPost hit Chicago for a very special holiday Yuletide jolly season Postie Patrol. Check out the video above. Robyn came down on all fours to take a groovy video and pictures with the new camera. That camera gear is off the chain, and that scavenger hunt looked incredibly fun. Great job, Robyn! That looked like a blast. Like the Nike tagline, “Just Do It!” for the Digital Photography Review

Though I am a bit reserved, I may consider participating in a Postie Patrol for a chance to win HP Gear. By the way, this is a sponsored post. This post was brought to you by HP.

salmon
Above is a picture of the salmon with rice that I had yesterday from Manhattan Fish Market in Queensbay, the recently opened megamall in Penang. This project has been stalled for a few years under Dr Mahathir’s rule and when Badawi took over the helm as Malaysia’s fifth prime minister, he made sure all the stalled projects are revived in Penang. Thanks to him, Penang is more prosperous now.

Dear Ted, head honcho of PayPerPost, thank you for your awesome system that pays by just blogging. Your splendid offer of a 6 mega pixel video digital camera and photo printer from Hewlett Packard for the 10 lucky posties is truly a great way to start the New Year. I hope I am one of the lucky 10.

Photography and videography are my passion. By winning your fabulous prizes, I will be able to increase and enhance my skills when I play with the nifty gadgets. I have to admit that ever since I began blogging for you, I have earned more money and won some truly special gifts not to mentioned meeting new friends.

Because you want zany and outrageous and yet tasteful (of course) posties/ video, I have really challenged my grey cells and they have been working overtime, okay, way overtime! After all the all-night session brainstorming, and guzzling gallons of hot mocha, I am now on a perpetual adrenaline buzz. And this is all thanks to you. My family has never seen me as busy as a beaver especially during this holiday season and I’ve been getting lots of positive comments on my previous posties. So thank you, not just for your great and super-duper offers but for giving me a life and getting me all excited! This post was brought to you by HP.

I just paid for another domain that was registered and hosting paid earlier for www.DianaTan.net for more blogging work. I hope the PR will increase to 4 or 5 soon. I may need some time to get the WordPress blog ready and need to configure the database and set up wpconfig.php. Still waiting for my friend for my trip to Genting Highlands and in the meantime, take another offer while waiting for him. He’s pretty busy with the logistics for his company and looks like a well deserved holiday is in the least of his priority. Ok, I just got a call, and he’s on his way now. Merry Christmas to everyone and posties also.

Merry Christmas
I am going to Genting Highland in a few hours time and will be back on the 25th in the evening. I will be spending my Christmas in the mountain resort and staying in First World Hotel, the world’s largest hotel with over 6,000 rooms. Well known for its casinos, I will not be gambling or trying my luck but rest and relax in this mountain resort. You don’t need air conditioners, as the place is very cold and perpectually air-con by nature. I am sure there will be plenty of fresh air with negative ions for health being surrounded by evergreen forrests. Here’s to wishing all staffs at PayPerPost a very Merry Christmas 2006 and posties included. Have a good rest and Happy Holidays too!
