Fishing Village Restaurant
Last night, my boss and I had our dinner at this obscure hidden restaurant by the beach in a village. We got to know this little restaurant by word-of-mouth from my sister’s Intel colleagues. It was supposed to be my treat to my boss, but he ended up paying RM95 for the meal. I ordered frozen lobster which sells at RM10 per 100gm as compared to fresh live lobster at RM18 per 100 gm. So they prepared 700 gm frozen lobster thermidor as shown in Photos 1 and 2. It was full of lobster meat, creamy cheese, button mushrooms, onions, spring onions and crispy bits sprinkled on top of the lobster meal. The meal cost RM70 and the succulent white crustacean meat tantalized my taste buds. It was pure ambroisia! I also order plain stir-fried brocolli (photo 3) and chinese ‘sar hor fun’ (photo 4) which is rice batter layer cut up and fried with vegetables, garlic and prawns. Let the above picture speaks for itself.

The address of Fishing Village Restaurant is 765, MK2, Teluk Bahang, 11050 Penang and the telephone number for reservation is 604-885 2084.

  1. [...] Naturally, I had to keep looking at the photos; I just couldn’t look away. That’s when I spotted the most sumptious lobster I’d ever seen. Have I ever mentioned how much I love lobster? Two of my kids have requested lobster dinners for their 15th birthday. Both Chris and Boomer share my love of seafood so I was thrilled to introduce them to lobster when they asked. The picture of lobster in the TSL Design Blog brought back such happy memories of those birthday dinners I spent with my sons. [...]

Marisa: Thanks for the comments. Those are the frozen ones that are cheaper at RM10 per 100 gm compared to fresh lobster at RM16 per 100 gms. It taste just as good with the seafood flavor and the plenty of cheese, button mushrooms and onions certainly make the Lobster Thermidor very delectable and tantalizing. This is not some dish that I eat every day though. :)

Also, glad to read that the pictures brought happy memories of birthday dinners with your sons.
