Blogger for Profy.com

Yesterday I have been accepted as a new blogger for Profy.com which is relatively new. It started in October 2006 and a few of the fellow Malaysian bloggers such as siong1987. They have started blogging for this new blog. I am pleased to be accepted for paid blogging to write topics ranging from web technologies to interactive web application etc.

More and more people are taking up blogging as a serious job at home be it part-time or full-time. Though I have a job in my home office, paid blogging is my sideline and helps me maximize my time while it improves my writing skills. Blogging also allows me to network with fellow bloggers and enable me to continue my hobby of writing.

Paid Blogging via PayPerPost

Paid blogging is now all the rage especially with PayPerPost. The blogosphere is continuing to grow, with a weblog created every second, according to blog trackers Technorati. People are jumping the bandwagon to quickly get their blogs indexed and get PR ranking. But with new payment policies and guidelines, revenue from Adsense has decreased noticeable for publishers like you and me.

Instead of waiting for clicks on your contextual advertisement, bloggers now take the proactive approach through paid blogging to effectively increase their payment. Why not blog on something you like or are passionate about and still get paid for it? Companies offer generous payment just to write on selected topics and products. If you work hard, you get rewarded. It is a simple as that.No need to depend on high traffic or thousands of visitors each day. A Little History About Nokia

Today, Nokia is a world leader in mobile communications, providing solutions for imaging, games, media and businesses, but it didn’t quite start out that way.

It began as a wood-pulp company in 1865. Over the years, it branched out to more industries, including electronics in the 1060s, with a car-radio telephone. It even manufactured rubber boots until the early 70s.

It wasn’t until 1992 that Nokia unveiled one of its first digital mobile phones. Today, the Nokia headquarters, called Nokia House, is a glass, steel and wood structure with simple lines and the feel of an eight-story greenhouse that incubates offices and ideas rather than plants. Its global headquarters in Espoo, Finland, sits on a waterfront that freezes over in winter. Only spring warmth will free a fishing boat lodged in ice just outside the window.

Why is it important in blogging?

Because advertisers are offering bloggers payment or gifts to create content about specific products or services, the blogger’s interest in the product or service may be in part the financial gain.

The above is an example of Feedburner Email Signature Animator. To place this inside your email, simply follow the instructions below:

  1. Sign up for Feedburner.com.
  2. Click on Publicize tab and select Headline Animator.
  3. Under Animator Settings below, select Email Signature Animator sytle.
  4. Copy the HTML code. That’s it.

Chicklet  

The above icons are known as chicklets in Feedburner. To add them,

  1. Under Publicize tab, click on Chicklet Chooser.
  2. As you select each chicklet, a set of different HTML will be shown in the box below.

Check out this site logo on my business checks. Wouldn’t it be cool to have your own customized and self-designed checks with your own logo added? Variety is indeed the spice of life; receiving colorful checks with a wide repertoire of designs from the American flag, to safari animals and even scenic beach pictures.

Also check out my dream business which highlights the three common errors to avoid when opening a new business. It is good business practice to do a prior research and create that business plan before embarking on a new venture besides avoiding the 3 common errors in new businesses. You also need to set aside cash for advertising, marketing, office expenditure, etc.

Look for cheap business chachkas. By the way, ‘chachkas’ are from Yiddish and defined as knickknacks, dust collectors, bric-a-brac. Little decorative thingies you put around the house, generally bought gift shops and the like. Oh boy do you have gorgeous chachkas!

I am now one of the bloggers for gadgetell.com, a website on non other than the latest gadgets. I have submitted a few posts and so far 4 of them have been published. The money will be paid to my Paypal. I realized not many blogs accept a lady blogger especially on gadgets and gizmos but there are 2 other women bloggers beside me on this gadget site. It is a nice side income during my free time and keep me usefully occupied as I work in my home office. When I feel like earning that extra allowance, I just log in to blog and hopefully my posts get accepted. Otherwise, I will be napping restfully in bed.

Check from Prudential

Prudential check
My sister recently got her check from Prudential for her 2-day stay in Loh Guan Lye Specialist Hospital for her right side tonsillectomy. Above is the check for RM600 for 2 nights stay, or RM300 per day which was received today. Earlier this year, her left side of tonsils was surgically removed as they were causing her problems and was inflamed and filled of pus. So the doctor advised her to have them removed as soon as possible. Due to fear of excessive bleeding, only one was removed at a time and not two tonsils in one go.

I guess it is good to buy at least an insurance policy for protection because you never know when you will need the financial assistance in the event of sickness or inability to work. I know of a friend who got RM80k due to a diagnosed condition which makes it impossible for him to ever work outside. But before he was diagnosed and fell ill with the condition, he was working outside and thank goodness, he took up a Great Eastern Insurance policy by chance not knowing that he will be fully awarded the full sum.

Thanks to Liew CF who referred me to this site, a wordpress plugin to install social bookmark icons or bar to your wordpress blog. There are a total of 25 icons or small rectangles with links to bookmark the page. If you click on the title of this write up, it will refer to another page with the social bookmark icons. Just download the zip file to your folder and upload the ‘Sociable’ folder to the wordpress plugin folder and activate it. Voila, it is done!

When I was working in the secular world, I always feel a sense of belonging to the company whenever they print out name cards for me. Now, working in my home office, I can design my own name card or business card for promotion. There is a nice feature where you can get your own free business cards from the web. You can have a choice of having plastic cards or even metal cards from this free business cards website. And folks, you can even design your own free business cards with the mandatory name, address, nature of business, logo and color of the card. I have designed name cards for my current company and also for my web design business previously. Normally, I collect a few nice cards, and come out with my own unique design after getting some ideas.

Nokia Connectivity Adapter Cable CA-42

nokia usb adapter cable CA-42I just came back from Gurney Plaza and bought myself a Nokia Connectivity Adapter Cable CA-42 for RM199.00. This is to transfer the images from my camera phone to the computer via a USB cable. Imagine paying RM780 for my new Nokia 6101 camera handphone without any USB cable to transfer images to my PC. My handphone comes with Bluetooth feature but I rather not buy an additional Bluetooth detector for my PC as according to the vendor, though the cable is more expensive, but the transfer rate is faster as well. So that got me to decide on the spot to get this cable.
