Recently I got a freelance job to set up 2checkout.com merchant account for a client in USA for his digital products. He got www.nitrocovers.com to create the epackage cover and banner for a good price and my job is to create 2 pages, a main page and thank you page with a link to download the product. I did everything correctly linking his site to 2checkout.com merchant account by creating a product and copying the html for the credit card payment facility or payment gateway. To my dismay, the error message came out “Incorrect Parameters used” when testing the buy button. So I quickly contact 2checkout.com staff to ask them the check the problem. Within 24 hours, I got a reply that it was solved by them as they upgraded their application. Indeed this does not augur well for a new client who puts so much hope and trust to get the link set up in a day and to see the error message. Anyway, I am pleased that they responded quickly to solve this matter.

I discovered this link here or the actual url at www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/adsense/ which tells you where to put your Adsense or any other contextual advertisements in your WordPress blog at any location such as bottom right, top, etc. The internet is marvellous as it is a huge library on online information and plenty of resources can be found. I shall be developing my blog further and add in more plugins for more functionality and features. No blog is complete without the contextual advertisements which can earn the blogger some revenue. I was working in the secular corporate world for about 8 years in various jobs from training Microsoft Office applications, programming in multimedia platform to teaching and even sales before the doctors discovered that I have a condition which makes it hard for me to work outside at all ever or handle work stress. So, here I am in home office to make a living by blogging part time while still holding a full time job working for a friend at home doing various administration work, internet research, filing, prepare quotations and more. In my spare time, I look for freelance jobs and some web design work. 

Finally managed to scout around the admin site for wordpress and change the theme to a more user-friendly color of autumn green and orange. The look and feel is cool. I like the plenty of white background space and now trying to figure out how to add my clicksor, chitika codes to the site. I just love to blog. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will discover the method without hiring a webmaster to do it for me. As I have learnt in my trainee teachers’ course for a year in NIE, this is Piaget style of self discovery, supposedly the best form of learning. Though some people may prefer the short cut of paying someone to teach them, I kind of like the slower method of self discovery and with more control over how I want my new blog to look like.   

This is my first Word Press set up after months of desire to actually set up one. I finally went to www.wordpress.org and download the free file and followed instructions from the readme.htm. Got a little help from my hosting to create a database called WordPress and the rest are all automatic for a moderate user of internet stuffs. With some background in web designing and uploading files, I finally have my own Word Press page, using the default template. I would like to customise it to more vibrant colors instead of the ubiquitous sky blue that you see so often on the other Word Press pages. “Hello World, let’s see how it goes from here.”
